Of course there are all sorts of other ways to describe a Gangster however these are the more common ones. We’re sure you could come up with a few of your own!
There are many reasons why young kids end up gangsters. Many of them come from broken homes without a positve male influence and haven’t any guidance on how to be a man, some were abused verbally, physically and sexually and now want to hurt others, some are forced in to gangs by other gang members (although this is not as prevalent in Vancouver), some are thirsty for power and respect after being bullied or unloved as a child and some simply fall into gangs because they saw their friends with money, cars and women and wanted to get a piece.

Gangsters join gangs for safety and for power. This becomes a problem as other gangs want to take some of the action. Gang wars break out and usually the top members of the gang are either killed or arrested by police due to the new awareness caused by the shootings and killings. As is the case in Vancouver in 2008-2009, many of the bigger named gangsters are being locked up, shot at and killed. This is the natural progression. A new breed will step up and try to take over, until the next war. This cycle will repeat until something is done.

Life isn’t easy for a gangster. You are always looking behind you, your friends are often your enemies, the girls that “love” you are only with you until a bigger and more powerful guy shows them some attention, you can’t rely on anyone and when the proverbial shit hits the fan, you can’t come out of your basement for fear of being shot or arrested.
The end is near for your everyday gangster. Gone are the days of 3 piece suits, movie stars and glamour. These new-age gangsters and thugs with thier easily-idenitfying tattoos, designer clothing, pretty sunglasses and flashy cars on a downward spiral. Just like the economy, business is drying up and its getting harder and harder to make a buck.
Not only that but more and more of the general public are getting involved. People are angry. Decent, honest, tax-paying, law-abiding citizens are losing their jobs and homes and looking for a place to direct their rage. Guess what? Gangsters are the target.
Know a gangster and want to tell someone about it?
Tell us your story!

you are so right! I dated a so-called gangster for a about a year and he was a total wuss. At home he was a total mama’s boy but once he was around his little crew he became larger than life.
It was a turn on at first but once the police started coming to my house to ask questions, that was he end for us. My dad wasn’t going to let it happen. he started recording license plates even!
Gangsters are THE BOTTOM OF THE FOOD CHAIN.
