United Nations Gang Leader Clay Roueche was sentenced to 30 years today as the US Justice system did something that many Canadian judges don’t seem to be capable of, handing out a sentence that fits the crime.

U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lasnik agreed with the sentencing suggestion made by the U.S. Attorney and threw the book at the Vancouver UN Gang leader. Many of the general public are of the opinion that if Clay was arrested in Canada, he’d get a slap on the wrist and maybe 10 years in jail, only to be allowed out after 5 with “good behaviour”.

“I am absolutely certain that Mr. Roueche feared no one, took orders from no one and was the person making the decisions,” Judge Lasnik said.

Roueche, who long avoided the U.S. because he suspected he was wanted in Canada, was arrested last year after he tried to attend a fellow gangster’s wedding in Mexico. Mexican authorities wouldn’t let him enter the country, and at the request of the Americans, they put him on a flight home that landed first in Dallas. U.S. authorities were only too happy to take him into custody.

Prosecutors say he used a network of helicopters, planes, semi-trucks and other methods to move many tons of marijuana and cocaine and millions of dollars through Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, and expanded the gang’s influence through threats and violence. The UN has been blamed for a number of targeted killings, though Roueche was not charged with any acts of violence.

Jail in the USA is no joke. As hardcore as Clay might have thought he was, he is no match for the gangs in US jails. Sure he can buy protection for a while, but once the prision gangs decide that he doesn’t have enough to offer them anymore, he’ll quickly have to align with the Aryans or face severe gang-violence. Since his empire was built on violence, we feel is is rather fitting that he’ll now get a taste of his own medicine.

In light of Clay’s recent sentence, we’ve found some gifts that he might really appreciate and need while locked down.

The Red Scorpion Gang can’t seem to stay out of the news! The latest Red Scorpion Gang showed off their fancy jackets(Cheap Karate school logo?) after 28 year old Michael O’Brien and 27 year old Mohamed Amarhoun, both of Mission, we arrest in a house is Mission that was suspected of supplying various drug lines in the area. The recent takedown was conducted by the Mission RCMP, Abbotsford Police and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team. $3,000 in cash was seized along with four ounces of cocaine, bear spray, ammunition and a jacket emblazoned with a giant “Red Scorpion” logo on the back.

Amarhoun has already been convicted twice for drug possession, as well as assault, driving while prohibited, and breach of probation, while O’Brien has convictions for possession of stolen property over $5,000 and four counts of using or possessing counterfeit money.

Mohamed Amarhoun, or “Fat Moe” as people call him behind his back, is also connected to the Surrey 6 slayings. It was Amarhoun that Dennis Karbovanec called last October after he was arrested by Abbotsford Police. Karbovanec, who got a life sentence in April after pleading guilty to three counts of second-degree murder for his part in the Surrey Six killings, was wanted on a warrant by the Mission RCMP. He decided to call Fat Moe and asked him to come pick up his truck that was impounded by the police. Amarhoun showed up to the impound lot with Jeff Harvey, the same guy who was arrested with Jamie Bacon at Castle Fun Park Amusement Center. Why were they arrested? Showing up to an amusement park wearing body amour. Subtly isn’t a strong suit of the Red Scorpion Gang.

Rumour has it that Fat Moe and friends were the ones involved in a viscious attack on Myrtle Street in Mission four years ago, after they moved into the upstairs suite in a rental house.(According to the comments on Kim Bolan’s blog’s story about this arrest). When the downstairs tennant didn’t take the suggestion that he move out so that Moe and friends could deal drugs, they broke down his door in the middle of the night and attacked the tenant as he slept. In the attack, the innocent victim lost numerous fingers on his handle while trying to defend himself.. No one was charged in that brutal assault, although most people knew who was responsible.

Ordinary citizens need to keep an eye out for these types of drug house. Be diligent. Looks for traffic coming and going on a regular basis, increasing in frequency on pay day and a couple days after pay day. Record license plates, makes and models of vehicles. Snap photos or take video of you can without endangering yourself. Send these anonymously to the police, using fake email address, sent from public places like libraries or internet cafe’s.

Help the Police so they can Serve and Protect you better!

I have a friend that is currently being harrassed by a group of gangsters because they think her daughter is cute and wants to date her. Talk about a cheap way to get a date.Anyway they have stolen their BBQ, 2 bicycles, and deflated the tires on her car. We even caught them trying to peer through the fence to stare at her swimming. That is all I happen to know at the moment but I know there’s more. They have called the police and all the police say is unless they can catch them in the act, they cannot do anything to help.

The gangsters moved in next door about a month ago and my friends family is thinking of selling the home they’ve lived in for years and giving up the neighbourhood they lived in for even longer. Do you happen to have any tips or where to go to for help or information.

Thank You

Hello B.C.

That’s a tough situation to be in. Here’s some things you can do…

* Install video camera’s outside the house to record any suspicious activity.
* Start a diary, recording everyone that comes and goes from the gangsters property, license plates, descriptions of people, etc
* Start calling in anonymous tips to crimestoppers, giving them all the information you have. Also leave anonymous tips at ICBC, Revenue Canada, etc. Make up stories that will make those departments start to investigate.(ICBC-Stolen cars, possible chop-shop. Revenue Canada-Drug dealing, failure to declare revenue, etc
* Collect all information you can and keep calling the police.

Dennis Karbovanec

Dennis Karbovanec has pleaded guilty to three counts of second degree murder after confessing to shooting and killing numerous people in the Surrey Six massacre in October 2007. Dennis admitted to shooting dead innocent victim Chris Mohan and drug dealers Ryan Bartolomeo and Michael Lal. His sentence is life with the possibility of parole after 15 years and he can thank his light sentence to his conscience as well as his desire to assist the police with the Surrey 6 shootings.

Even though we don’t know exactly what sort of deal Dennis Karbovanec made with the police and the Crown due a heavily contested publication ban, the consensus is that he told the police everything he knew about the Surrey Six murders and as a result, got some sort of considerations when it came to sentencing. We’re not sure if life in jail can be considered a “consideration” but it is what it is.

On Kim Bolan’s blog, the debate rages between whether or not the sentence was fair. Some people are pleased that even though Dennis Karbovanec could be back on the streets(under “monitoring” for the rest of his life) in 15 years, many other members of the Red Scorpion gang are going to be locked away as a result of Dennis’ information. Others can’t fathom that the so called “serial killer” and “contract killer” might get out on good behaviour while the families of the murdered are going to suffer for life. There is even a debate as some people express sympathy only for the innocent victims of the Surrey 6 murders versus the people that believe that all the victims should receive equal respect, regardless if they were drug dealers or people in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We think that it took 50% common sense and 50% guilt that caused Dennis to walk up the RCMP and offer to tell them what he knew. He’s smart enough to know when the deck is stacked against him, he knows that none of the Bacons are going to take the rap for him so he does what most people would do. He does what is best for him. He looks out for #1 and tells the police what he knows.

Not only will Dennis’ testimony help lock up other Vancouver gangsters, but it will enable others up and down the line to start weighing their options with a realistic view after the police come knocking. Especially the younger gangsters.

Vancouver Gangsters have two choices.

If you are a gangster in your 20’s tell the police what you know what they get you. You know you’ll eventually be caught and locked up. Cut a deal. Even if you’ve killed someone, you’ll be out of jail in your mid 30’s, hopefully with a solid education after being locked down. You’ll get back in to society and you’ll have a decent life ahead of you if you work hard.

That’s the best option for these misguided young adult men. The other choice is…

You stay in the game and fight to the death. You end up in a ditch or slumped over your steering wheel and people read about you on a blog. If you are really hardcore, you’ll go down in a blaze of glory with other gangsters but let’s be honest…That only happens in the movies.

In real life, you are shot in the back of the head. You don’t even see it coming. Life just ends. No music, no credits. Fade to black like the final episode of the Soprano’s when everyone in the world watching yelled a collective, “What the fuck!” when Tony Soprano was sitting in the diner with the dramatic goings on around him and suddenly the screen went blank and the audio stopped. That’s what’ll happen when it’s your turn. Then a phone call to your parents from the cops, a funeral, a notice in the paper and you are a memory. Not very glamourous huh? No kids, no grandkids, no legacy. You end up a entry on a website that eventually gets archived. Not very gangster.

Gangsters are not a loyal bunch and once the smart ones realize this, they will make the right choice to get out. Gangster have each other’s back when it comes to stepping to other gangs but once they face a loss of freedom, they aren’t so tough. ie: At the club, they have no problems grabbing a bottle or stool and going after a punk from a rival gang. When it comes to the police and the Law, they start thinking long and hard about the future. Would these guys around them take some of the blame? Would the “Boss” step up to the plate for them? Would he take the rap for them? Hell no.

Most of these gangsters are pawns and many haven’t figured it out it yet. The smart ones like Dennis realize that the only way out(other than with a toe tag) is to tell the police what they know and help them get rid of these gangsters that prey on the weak, and as their reward, they get another shot to make something of themselves.

Sure they’ll have to do some time. They’ll go in, keep to themselves and they’ll be fine. They will need to make sure that if someone steps to them, they rock them. Otherwise, read books, get on the kitchen range(it’s a nice gig) and get involved in as many programs as possible and they will do their time no problems.

We wish Dennis the best of luck and hopefully in 15 years when we do a follow-up after his parole hearing, we’ll hear that he found Jesus or something and has turned over a new leaf. We hope so!

There are quite a few famous gangsters that ended up becoming informants and in almost all of these cases, the so called “rats” are doing well and living free, as opposed to the gangsters that they helped lock up. Contrary to what a criminal will tell you, informants are rarely hurt and harmed, especially those that have protection. The general thinking is that once you “rat out your crew” they will come after you but the truth be told, no one is coming after you. They are too busy trying to defend themselves in court to be worried about who sent them there. The last thing a ratted out gangster wants is more attention from the Police by trying to inflict harm on the informant. They have much more important things to worry about.

At one time the Mafia had a code of silence called omertà which was religiously followed, by penalty of death or serious physical harm. For the most part, this code of silence worked until the 1970’s when the US Government developed the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). The RICO act was instrumental in bringing charges to hundreds of Mafia members all over the US and with the RICO Act’s very hard jail sentences as well as the forfeiture of propert and assests from criminal activities, many gangsters started rolling over on their Mafia Familes.

Some of the more famous Italian Mafia informants.

Sammy "Bull" Gravano

Sammy “Bull” Gravano rose through the ranks of the Gambino Crime Family until the weight of numerous murder charges and RICO started to weigh on him. Sammy started to tell the FBI all about his Boss, John Gotti’s crimes and as a result of Sammy becoming an informant, a wave of arrests were made as more and more Mafia members started to save themselves by telling the police what they knew. At the time, Bull was the highest member of a Mafia family to become an informant. He wouldn’t be the last.

Sammy left Witness Protection and moved to Arizona, living out in the open and even doing TV interviews. at one point he dared the Mob to come after him saying, “They send a hit team down, I’ll kill them. They better not miss, because even if they get me, there will still be a lot of body bags going back to New York. I’m not afraid. I don’t have it in me. I’m too detached maybe. If it happens, fuck it. A bullet in the head is pretty quick. You go like that! It’s better than cancer. I’m not meeting you in Montana on some fuckin’ farm. I’m not sitting here like some jerk-off with a phony beard. I’ll tell you something else: I’m a fuckin’ pro. If someone comes to my house, I got a few little surprises for them. Even if they win, there might be surprises.”

October 2002 he was convicted for his part in a major ecstasy trafficking organization, which also involed his wife, son and daughter. He is currently serving a 19-year sentence and recently contracted Graves’ Disease, a thyroid disorder which causes fatigue, weight loss with increased appetite, and hair loss. He will most likely die in jail.

Henry Hill

Henry Hill is a former Lucchese crime family associate and FBI informant whose life was immortalized in the 1990 Martin Scorsese film Goodfellas, in which Hill was played by Ray Liotta. Henry idolized the Mafia and began running errands and washing Mobsters cars. After a brief stint in the Army, Henry returned to New York where he became deeply intrenched in the Mafia.

One of his most famous heists was the Lufthansa heist in 1978, where an estimated $5 million in cash and $875,000 in jewels were stolen. Henry Hill was also involved in a point-shaving scam with Boston College and even some NBA referees.

Eventually the heat came down on Henry. Although the Mafia tried to stay away from drug dealing, Henry couldn’t resist the huge profits and the taste of the drugs. He started breaking the cardinal rule of being a drug dealer, “Don’t get high on your own supply” Soon paranoia took over and eventually, Henry was arrested. While in jail, the FBI played some secret tapes from some of his Mafia buddies, where they talk about “wacking” Henry. This was enough for him to testify and tell the police everything he knew.

He went in to the Witness Protection program but eventually was kicked out for being arrested too many times, mostly for drugs and alcohol related issues. Henry now lives in Malibu, California and owns a couple of Italian restaurants and apparently doing pretty well for himself.

Frank Calabrese Junior, son of Frank Calabrese Senior is the most recent member of the Mafia to turn in his fellow mobsters. In a case that involved the unsolved murders of over 18 people in the 1970’s and 1980’s Frank Calabrese Jr wore a secret recording device and recorded his father telling him about all the murders he was involved in. While the two of them were in jail together, Frank Jr decided to help the FBI keep his father in jail. He also had help from his uncle,a made member of the Chicago Mafia also known as, The Outfit. Nicholas Calabrese recently testified against some of the most powerful members of the Chicago Mafia Calabrese began to cooperate in 2002 after authorities confronted him with DNA evidence on a bloody glove that linked him to the 1986 killing of mob hit man John Fecarotta. He is now serving 12 years and 4 months in prison for his participation in the numerous murders.

We’ll be doing more stories of famous informants. Stay tuned!

Red Scoprion gang members are falling left and right these days. They are either being killed or arrested as the pressure from the public and various police forces continues to build. The latest Red Scorpion Gangsters to go down???

Dennis Karbovanec, Jamie Bacon, Cody Rae Haevischer and Matt Johnston

Red Scorpion Gang Vancouver

Looks like the pressure of the case against him in the “Surrey Six” murders has finally Dennis to cave in. Rumor has it that Dennis decided to do the smart thing and tell the Police about his involvement in one of the deadliest gang murders in Vancouver history, a move that will cost him some freedom but will probably save his life.

On October 19, 2007, six men were gunned down in Whalley, British Columbia. While 4 of these men were involved in the Surrey drug trade, the 2 other men were totally innocent bystanders, who just happened to happen upon the murders and were shot so that they couldn’t be witnesses.

Ed Schellenberg, a 55 year old gasfitter and close to retirement was assigned to take care of the gas fireplace cleaning of apartment 1505, home to 4 known criminals with lengthy criminal histories. Why the building manager never accompanied Ed we’ll never know but the Schellenberg Family should seriously consider legal action. If there were known criminals in the suite, why wouldn’t you have warned servicemen? A question for the courts no less.

The other innocent victim,22-year-old Christopher Mohan was on his way to a basketball game after talking to his mother. It is believed he happened up 27 year old Dennis Karbovanec, Jamie Bacon(23), Cody Rae Haevischer and Matt Johnston.(both 24). He was killed too, another potential witness to the gruesome murders.

For a year and a half, Police worked behind the scenes, talking with witnesses, gang members and other gangsters that were in custody, trying to find out what exactly happened. Finally they had enough to go after these punk murders and now they all await their time in jail.

We’ll soon find out if indeed Dennis decided to save his own skin and tell the police what happened that day. Whatever the moronic reasons for killing those people, at least Eileen Mohan and the Schellenberg Family can have some peace. At the end of the day, thats all that really matters.

Cantonese gang slang is used by many Triad groups and other Underworld figures. This book should is a mandatory resource for Law Enforcement Agencies such as the RCMP and VPD, in order to keep track of what the local Asian gangsters are up to.

In addtion, the general public can learn a great deal from this. As Cantonese gangsters already feel comfortable talking in their native slang, this book will help you decipher what they are saying. Note of caution however, not all Asian gangsters speak Cantonese. Some will speak Mandarin as well.

The best thing you can do to help your child if they are involved in criminal activity is to tell the police everything you know.

This will safe thier life and possibly the life of others. Show them that they are not above the law. Make them responsible for their actions.

Easier said than done right? What about your safety?

The Internet has made “being a rat” safe. Instead of actually dropping a dime in the payphone and looking over your shoulder for eavesdroppers, you can now send a totally anonymous email via the Web. No names, no address, no nothing.

Not sure how to do this?.

Find a Internet cafe

Create a Hotmail address

Write an email telling about what you know(list below)

Press Send

It’s never been easier. The police will get this information and investigate it for themselves. You can’t be called as a witness because “you” are only a email address. NO strings attached.

If your information is something only certain people would know, try to change the details around a little so that there are more degrees of separation. If you saw something first-hand, write your story as if you were associated with someone else that might have seen something.

Hard time rarely kills anyone. Not any more than being in a life of crime will.

It’ll be difficult to see them in court, harder when they get sentenced and ten times worse once you have to visit them in jail. They will survive and listen from a distance as more and more of their friends get shot or locked up. They’ll have plenty of time for personal reflection and for the most part, they will rehabilitate and become productive members of society.

Do what’s best for your family members that are criminals by turning them in.

Eventually, they will thank you for doing it.

Send anonymous emails to any of the following. They will get your information out and keep you safe!

Greater Vancouver Crime Stoppers

Kenton O’Donnell, a concerned and frightened 11 year old boy from Abbotsford, British Columbia recently voiced his concern over the escalating gang violence and the infamous Bacon Brothers, who happen to reside in Kenton’s own neighbourhood.

In Kenton’s speech to his schoolmates at Clayburn Middle School, he asked,”Imagine if the shootings were at my house at the time I was walking home. I might have been shot or injured.”

11 year old boys should be playing road hockey, video games, playing catch in the backyard, having friends over for sleepovers and other footloose and fancy-free activities. According to Kenton, these Abbotsford gangsters the Bacon Brothers have made many childhood pursuits impossible and unsafe.

Other parents won’t allow their kids over to play unless they stay inside. Who can blame them when the Bacons have been shot at repeatedly? He said that it isn’t even safe to bounce around on the trampoline in his own backyard!

Even with numerous video cameras recording every move in the neighborhood and a constant Police presence, Kenton still has to hurry past the Bacon family home and has to stay alert for strange cars that might be other gangsters trying to kill the Bacons.

Talk about loss of innocence. When most children have happy childhood memories, this young man will have not-so-fond memories of gangsters, police cars, video cameras watching every move and potential bad guys around every corner.

Sounds like Compton, California or East Los Angeles doesn’t it?

Nope. Abbotsford BC.

Again we ask…WHY is an 11 year old speaking up? Where are the parents and relatives and neighbours of these gangsters? Why aren’t they calling the Police? Why aren’t they emailing us to help stop this madness.

Our first thought when we heard about Kenton O’Donnell’s speech about Abbotsford Gangsters the Bacon Brothers was that we feared something would happen to him. We know the Bacons aren’t the brightest bulbs in the box but we hope they have enough sense to not hurt him.

Mind you, would something as horrible as that be what it takes to finally get people to do something about the gang violence in Vancouver? Probably not. Isn’t that a tragedy in itself? An 11 year old boy risks everything to voice his opinion when hundreds of others are holding vital information that they refuse to tell anyone?

It’s shameful.

Great job Kenton. We, the general public that actually try and do something about these gangsters applaud you. You are a credit to your family and should be praised.

To everyone else that knows a gangster, is related to a gangster, is dating a gangster or is sleeping with a gangster so they can have that new Coach purse, you should be so privilege to even breathe the same air as this brave boy. The fact that you haven’t told anyone about what you know is disgusting and pitiful.

If YOU want to make a difference and want to help stop this madness, comment on this Kenton O’Donnell story or send us an email about what you know. Your identity is safe if you use an anonymous email like Hotmail.

Clear your conscience and help save countless lives. Now, before another life is lost!

Of course there are all sorts of other ways to describe a Gangster however these are the more common ones. We’re sure you could come up with a few of your own!

There are many reasons why young kids end up gangsters. Many of them come from broken homes without a positve male influence and haven’t any guidance on how to be a man, some were abused verbally, physically and sexually and now want to hurt others, some are forced in to gangs by other gang members (although this is not as prevalent in Vancouver), some are thirsty for power and respect after being bullied or unloved as a child and some simply fall into gangs because they saw their friends with money, cars and women and wanted to get a piece.

Gangsters join gangs for safety and for power. This becomes a problem as other gangs want to take some of the action. Gang wars break out and usually the top members of the gang are either killed or arrested by police due to the new awareness caused by the shootings and killings. As is the case in Vancouver in 2008-2009, many of the bigger named gangsters are being locked up, shot at and killed. This is the natural progression. A new breed will step up and try to take over, until the next war. This cycle will repeat until something is done.

Life isn’t easy for a gangster. You are always looking behind you, your friends are often your enemies, the girls that “love” you are only with you until a bigger and more powerful guy shows them some attention, you can’t rely on anyone and when the proverbial shit hits the fan, you can’t come out of your basement for fear of being shot or arrested.

The end is near for your everyday gangster. Gone are the days of 3 piece suits, movie stars and glamour. These new-age gangsters and thugs with thier easily-idenitfying tattoos, designer clothing, pretty sunglasses and flashy cars on a downward spiral. Just like the economy, business is drying up and its getting harder and harder to make a buck.

Not only that but more and more of the general public are getting involved. People are angry. Decent, honest, tax-paying, law-abiding citizens are losing their jobs and homes and looking for a place to direct their rage. Guess what? Gangsters are the target.

Know a gangster and want to tell someone about it?
